Abraham Schermerhorn (1783-1850)
of Schermerhorn & Co., Ship's Chandlers, New York
He purchased No. 1 Greenwich Street, opposite the Battery, from Dominick Lynch, and in 1836 was renting it to Louis McLane. He and his wife were the parents of nine children, seven of whom lived to adulthood (listed).
