William Butler Duncan, Jr. (1862-1933)

"Butler Duncan" Yachtsman & President of the Knickerbocker Club, New York

He was named for his uncle, William Butler Duncan, by whom he was adopted after his father's premature death in 1873. He was Vice-Commodore of the New York Yacht Club and in 1920 he succeeded George R. Fearing to become the 6th President of the Knickerbocker Club. He served until three years before his death in 1930, when he was succeeded by Frank L. Polk. He died at his home, 55 East 72nd Street, N.Y.C.
