Samuel Buell Gardiner (1815-1882)

10th Proprietor of Gardiner's Island, New York

He inherited Gardiner's Island in 1861 after the deaths of his two elder brothers. He married Mary, daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth Bowditch Havens Thompson, of New York. They had five children (listed). His eldest son relinquished his rights to Gardiner's Island and his second son became the 11th Proprietor.
