Jonathan Thompson Gardiner (1843-1933)

of East Hampton; Author of "The Gardiners of Gardiner's Island"; died unmarried

He lived at the White House in East Hampton. He never married and was described as, "a bachelor of quiet literary tastes, he compiled and published 'Gardiners of Gardiner's Island'". He was for a short time the 13th Proprietor of Gardiner's Island and he died in 1933 he left the island to his grand-nephew, Winthrop.
