Mary (Powell) Jarvis (1803-1852)

Mrs Mary Boyles (Powell) Jarvis, of Rosedale

She grew up in York (Toronto) at the home of her grandparents, Chief Justice William Dummer Powell (1755-1834) and Anne Murray. She married her husband in 1828 and they were the parents of five children. It was Mrs Jarvis who chose the name "Rosedale" for their family home, Rosedale.
