Mrs Louisa Cutler (Ward) Crawford, Terry

She was a first cousin of the self-styled arbiter of New York Society, Ward McAllister. She lived in Rome where her apartment at the Palazzo Odescalchi became the most cosmopolitan meeting place in the Italian capital. Her first husband was the celebrated sculptor Thomas Gibson Crawford. She was the mother of novelists F. Marion Crawford and Mary Crawford Fraser, and Margaret (Terry) Chanler.
