Thomas Gibson Crawford, Sculptor, of Rome & New York

He was one of America's best regarded sculptors in his time, perhaps best known for the the 20-foot bronze "Statue of Freedom" that crowns the U.S. Capital. He is also remembered for the Washington Monument in Richmond, Virginia.
