Alexander Thomas Paterson (1893-1955)

Colonel "Alex/Alec" Paterson, D.S.O., M.B.E., of Montreal & Cartierville

He was a stockbroker who was disgraced when he went bankrupt after the Wall Street Crash and in 1933 he was forced to move his young family permanently to what had been his summer cottage at 4977 Boulevard Gouin, Cartierville. Although reliant on his family for charity he won success on the battlefield and played a role in both wars. He married Anna, daughter of Percy Cowans (another stockbroker who also went bankrupt and took down a great many others with him) and they had two sons.
