Alexander Brown (1858-1949)

"Allie" Brown, of Brown & Sons, Bankers, of Baltimore, Maryland

He succeeded his father as head of the family investment bank, Brown & Sons, and lived between 712 Cathedral Street, Baltimore; Mondawmin, near Baltimore; and Harmon Hall at York Harbor, Maine. He was a keen sportsman and Master of the Elkridge Hounds. In 1883, he married the beautiful Bessie Montague who was a first cousin of Wallis Simpson's favorite aunt. They had two daughters: (1) Harriet, Mrs T. Suffern Tailer, and afterwards Mrs C. Ledyard Blair (2) Bessie, Mrs B. Howell Griswold Jr.
