William Burstall (1802-1879)

Merchant of Hull; of Lysdon House, Hessle, Yorkshire

He was a Hull merchant who dealt in timber from Quebec and was later involved with shipping and insurance broking. He married Jane and they had at least three children including John Burstall (1832-1896) who married Frances, daughter of James Bell Forsyth, of Quebec. He lived at Lysdon House, built by his maternal grandfather in the 1790s and purchased c.1850 from his uncle, Francis Hall Jr.
