Mrs Phoebe (Desha) Smith

She was the mother of the famous Mrs Alva Vanderbilt Belmont. Phoebe was married to a wealthy cotton merchant and she was remembered in Mobile for giving "costly, but not popular" parties according to Thomas C. de Leon.
