Maj. James Seton (b.1770)

Major in the New York Militia

He was a Lieutenant in the British Army with the 74th Highland Regiment at Halifax, Nova Scotia, before coming to New York where he served as a Major in the New York Militia against the British in the War of 1812. He married Mary, the only daughter of Nicholas Hoffman, and they had a son and four daughters.
