William Seton (1746-1798)

Merchant, of Seton, Maitland & Co. & Co-Founder of the Bank of New York

He lived - and entertained lavishly - between his townhouse in New York on Hanover Square and his country home "Cragdon" at Bloomingdale, N.Y. He was married twice to two of the daughters of Richard Curzon, of New York and Baltimore. He had five children by his first wife and eight by his second.
