Lorillard Spencer (1827-1888)

of Paris, New York City & Throgg's Neck, L.I.

He was born in New York City and for the first half of his life he lived between (see images) his homes on Fifth Avenue & 16th and his country estate at Throgg's Neck, L.I. In 1866, he moved with his family to Europe. He was associated with two addresses in Paris - 6 Avenue de l'Alma and 70 Avenue Marceau - and after his death his widow built "Villa Griswolden" at Dreilinden in Lucerne, Switzerland, which is more famously connected with their daughter, Eleanora, Princess de Vicavaro.
