Joshua Green (1764-1847)

Judge Joshua Green, of Wendell, Massachusetts; Senator in the State Legislature

He was born at Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated from Harvard (1784). He moved to Wendell in about 1790 and was, "for many years the most useful and influential man in the town and its vicinity... Judge Green was a man of unusual abilities and gentlemanly accomplishments, and for more than fifty years devoted himself to the advancement of the interests of Wendell. To him, more than to any other man, the town owed its former intelligence and prosperity". In 1791, he married Mary, daughter of David and Lydia (Gay) Mosley of Westfield, and they were the parents of two sons.
