James Bowen (c.1810-1885)

James Bowen Sr., Lumber Merchant, of James Bowen & Co., Quebec City

He is easily confused with his son of the same name. He lived between 110 Grande AllĂ©e in Quebec City and kept a summer house at Sillery Cove. In 1854, he purchased the fief of Monceaux. His children included his son James Jr. who married Elizabeth Fitch, sister of Edson Fitch who married his daughter, Mary.
