Henry Sargent (1770-1845)

Artist and Massachusetts State Senator, of Franklin Place, Boston;

He studied in Boston and London and was President of the Artists Association in Boston. His more famous paintings included, "Landing of the Pilgrims" and "Tea Party". His one surviving grandchild willed his paintings to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. He served as a State Senator and was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the militia. He married Hannah, sister of the eminent banker Samuel Welles, and they had two sons.
