Henry Cruger Oakley (1837-1906)

Stockbroker, of 55 Central Park West, New York City

He joined both the Union Club and the New York Stock Exchange in 1865, becoming head of the firm of Prince & Whiteley, and one of the oldest members of the Union Club. He joined the 71st Regiment at the beginning of the Civil War, serving as a First Lieutenant. He was a Freemason and a Member of Lafayette Post, G. A. R., Holland Lodge, and of the Union, Knickerbocker, Metropolitan, New York Yacht, Larchmont, Seawanhaka, Richmond County, Colonial Wars, Tuxedo, and City Clubs.
