George Steptoe Washington (1771-1809)

Planter, of "Harewood" Charles Town, West Virginia

He was one of George Washington's wild nephews who in 1792 eloped with the sister of Dolley Madison who would later become First Lady of the United States. He was also one of the seven executors of the President's will. George and Lucy had three children who survived infancy and they were the grandparents of Eugenia Scholay Washington who founded the lineage societies "Daughters of the American Revolution" and "Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America".
