Elizabeth (Teissier de la Tour) Gugy (d.1828)

Mme. Jeanne Elizabeth (Teissier de la Tour) Gugy

She was born circa 1747, the daughter of Louis-Guillaume Teissier de la Tour, a high profile banker who lived on Rue Marmousets in Paris and a nephew of Louis Barthélemy, a native of Montpelier who went to India in 1729 and became a Member of the Council at Pondicherry and Governor of Madras. She is presumed to be (as yet unproven) a granddaughter of Antoine Teissier (b.1667), Baron de Marguerittes in Montpelier. She died at Montreal and is buried with her husband at Trois-Rivières. They were the parents of five children, three of whom (listed above) reached adulthood.
