She was born in Paris. She was married first to James Johnston (then part owner of the Seigneury of Yamachiche) at her father's seigneury at Machiche on 14th December, 1806. After he died circa 1813, she married John Porteous and was survived by two sons - one from each marriage. She died at Sherbrooke, Quebec.
