James Bell Johnston (1810-1877)
Dr. James B. Johnston, of Sherbrooke, Quebec.
He was born at Yamachiche, near Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. He studied for five years in Montreal under Dr. Robert Nelson before graduating in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 1833. He settled at Sherbrooke from 1839 where he remained for the rest of his life. He was survived by his widow, Mary Ann Frances Wyatt, and one son, Dr. Wyatt Galt Johnston.
