Edgar Thomas Scott (1871-1918)

General Edgar T. Scott, of "Woodburne" Pennsylvania & "Chiltern" Bar Harbor

He was born in Philadelphia, the son of the 4th President of the Pennsylvania Railroad. He lived between a 52-bedroom mansion on Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, and "Chiltern" at Bar Harbor, Maine. He was appointed second secretary to the U.S. Embassy at Paris, France. During World War I, he was appointed Inspector-General of the American Expeditionary Force at General Headquarters and died at Chaumont.
