David Urquhart Warren (1924-1999)

Investment Manager/Consultant, of Beverley, Massachusetts

He graduated from Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts, and then Harvard College in 1954. He developed and managed a number of venture capital initiatives and was an investment management consultant in Boston. He was a co-founder (with his wife, Lynne) and trustee of the Glen Urquhart School in Beverly; director of the Newport Jazz and Folk Festivals; trustee of the Preservation Society of Newport; and, former Chairman of the Rhode Island district auditions for New York's Metropolitan Opera. He married Carla Simonds (1953), daughter of Godfrey Baldwin Simonds, and Lynne Foster (1966), daughter of Frank Burton Foster of West Barrington. He had 4-children: Godfrey Warren of Houston; Ashley Warren of Old Greenwich, Conn.; Tristan Warren of Eugene, Oregon; and, Lisl (Warren) Carr (b.1971), of Beverly.
