Caroline (Robinson) Forsyth-Grant (1851-1923)

Mrs "Minnie" (Robinson) Forsyth-Grant

She was married in 1881 to Captain William Forsyth-Grant, of the 82nd Regiment of Foot and a grandson of John Forsyth who had been one of Montreal's most pre-eminent businessmen. Her husband resigned his commission and they moved to Hawaii where he managed or owned a sugar plantation. While there, Minnie wrote, "Scenes in Hawaii Or, Life in the Sandwich Islands". By 1891, they retired to Toronto where Minnie was elected President of the Woman's Historical Society and the Ladies' Relief Society. They died without children. Her brother, Sir John Beverley Robinson, succeeded to the family Baronetcy in 1901 as the fourth Baronet of Toronto.
