Arthur Vincent (1701-1761)

Merchant, Sheriff, Alderman & Mayor of the City of Limerick

He was the younger brother of John Vincent (1689-1765) of Mardyke who was appointed Chamberlain of Limerick in 1740. In 1761, a Parliamentary committee pronounced Arthur's brother, an opium user, "a confused witness in a bad state of health". Arthur himself was a merchant, Alderman and Mayor (1728) of the City of Limerick. On his death, he was described as, "an eminent merchant and senior Alderman". In 1731, he married Blanche Waller of Cully (Castle Waller), Co. Tipperary, and had a son.
