Casa Loma
1 Austin Terrace, Toronto, Ontario
Completed in 1914, for Sir Henry Mill Pellatt (1859-1939) and his first wife, Mary Dodgson (1857-1924). Covering 64,700-square feet of living space, Casa Loma surpassed Ravenscrag to become the largest private residence in Canada. It is slightly smaller than Florham, making it the 16th largest historic house in North America. Situated within 5-acres of landscaped gardens, the castle is operated today as a popular house museum, events and weddings venue. The third floor incorporates the Regimental Museum for The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada but it is perhaps best recognized for its role in several blockbuster movies eg., X-Men, Chicago, Ready or Not....
