William Wharton Fisher (1785-1838)

Manager of the Pennsylvania Hospital, etc.

He was was elected the 5th Governor of the Schuylkill Fishing Company - the first angling club in America - in 1834. He was a member of the Gloucester Fox Hunting Club, President of the Philadelphia Hose Company from 1820-24 and Manager of the Pennsylvania Hospital from 1824-38. In 1813, he married Mary, daughter of Samuel Mickle Fox, President of the Bank of Pennsylvania, and had 9-children (listed).
