William Noyes (1760-1834)

of Old Lyme, New London Co., Connecticut

He built the Noyes Mansion (pictured) at Old Lyme in 1817, selling it shortly afterwards to Richard Ely when he moved to New York. Ely later sold it to his son-in-law's brother, Robert Griswold.
