William Kemble (1795-1881)

Co-Owner of the West Point Foundry, Cold Spring, New York

He co-owned the foundry with his brother, Gouverneur Kemble. In 1826, he built "The Cottage" at Cold Spring that is being renovated for use as a Bed-and-Breakfast. He was one of the 100-invitees (of which only 42 are known) invited to found the Century Association in New York in 1847. His son, Peter, married Victorine DuPont, daughter and co-heiress of Alfred Victor du Pont.
