William Henry Benyon (1842-1912)
Capt. W.H. Benyon, Assistant Commissioner for Quebec to the British Isles
He grew up at Gledhow Hall and Thorp Arch Hall in Yorkshire. He was educated at Harrow and in the same year as leaving (1859) was commissioned into the 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers. In 1867, he married Bessie, the eldest daughter of Andrew Allan of Montreal. They lived at 1078 Sherbrooke Street, Montreal.
