William Forsyth (1756-1793)

William Forsyth, Silk Manufacturer, of Huntly, Aberdeenshire

His daughter, Eliza (1783-1830), was married in 1808 to Duncan Mearns (1779-1852) D.D., Professor of Divinity at Aberdeen University and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. The Mearns lived at Disblair, inherited from the Professor's grandfather, James Morison, Provost of Aberdeen. After William Forsyth died, in 1795 his widow married the Rev. John Rose, Minister of Udny.
