William Biddle (1669-1743)

WB II, of "Mount Hope" Burlington, New Jersey

He was born in England at Bishopsgate Street, London. He arrived with his parents at New Jersey in 1681 at the age of twelve. On his father's death, he inherited "Mount Hope" and 12,905-acres in the Lotting Purchase. In 1695, he married Lydia Wardell, grand-daughter of Eliakim Wardell, of Nevesink, Sheriff of Monmouth County (1683), Member of the House of Deputies (1688) and Member of the New Jersey General Assembly (1692). They were both Quakers and had six children, four of whom (listed) lived to adulthood. He died intestate at Mount Hope in 1743.
