William Amory (1804-1888)

Manufacturer, of 43 Beacon Street, Boston, Massachusetts

He was Treasurer of the Amoskeag Mills and as one of the country's largest textile manufacturers amassed a fortune in excess $100,000, making him one of the wealthiest men in Massachusetts. He married Anna Powell Grant Sears, daughter of David Sears of Boston, one of Massachusetts' ten pre-Civil War millionaires. William and Anna were the parents of five children (listed above).
