Charles Walter Amory (1842-1913)

"Chad" Charles W. Amory, of 278 Beacon Street, Boston, Massachusetts

He was born in Boston, attended the Boston Latin School and graduated from Harvard. During the Civil War, he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 2nd Massachusetts Cavalry. Afterwards, he joined the family business and became the Treasurer of the Amory Manufacturing Co., and of the Langdon Manufacturing Co. Among his many directorships, he was a director of the Bell Telephone Co., and was generally regarded as one of the leading financiers in Brahmin society.
