William Adams Delano (1874-1960)
Architect, of Delano & Aldrich, New York
He was a partner in one of the Gilded Age's most celebrated architectural firm, Delano & Aldrich. Aside from his elegant designs - notably the Knickerbocker, Brook, and Colony clubhouses in New York - his interiors often featured his only characterful touches such as the frieze of flying fish on his Marine Air Terminal at La Guardia Airport. He married and had one son who became an artist.
