William Powell (1726-1805)

William Dummer Powell, Merchant, of Boston, Massachusetts

His private diary is still in existence and a useful insight into the life of a well-connected gentleman in 18th century Boston. His daughter, Susannah, married Senator Jonathan Mason, and they are the ancestor of many of the Sears family. Powell lived at the house on the south corner of Beacon & Walnut Streets, Boston.
