Warner Lewis III (c.1769-c.1797)

of Warner Hall, Gloucester Co., Virginia

He was educated at William & Mary College and inherited Warner Hall in 1791. In the following year he married Courtney Norton in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of John Hatley and Sally (Nicholas) Norton, of Virginia. He died "only a few years after his marriage" and his widow remarried Landon Carter of Prince William County. Warner and Courtney had two daughters, the eldest of whom, Mary, was the last Lewis to live at Warner Hall before she sold it in 1834.
