Thomas West, 3rd Lord de la Warr (1577-1618)

3rd Baron De la Warr (Delaware) & 1st Governor of Virginia

He was the 1st Governor of the Colony of Virginia and the state of Delaware was named for him. His mother was the grand-daughter of Mary Boleyn whose sister married King Henry VIII and was the mother of Queen Elizabeth I.
