Thomas Handasyd Perkins (1764-1854)

Col. T.H. Perkins, West India & China Trade Merchant, of Boston

He became hugely wealthy as a slave trader and smuggler of Turkish opium into China. In 1848, his fortune was valued at $1.5-million. He married Sarah, daughter of Simon Elliot of Boston, and they had seven children (listed above).
