Lt.-Col. Thomas Fraser (1749-1821)

Member of the Legislative Council, of Matilda Township, Upper Canada

He was a Loyalist formerly resident on Sir John Johnson's estate at Johnstown, New York. After the Revolution, he was granted 6,350-acres in York and Cornwall, Upper Canada, and then purchased a further 20,000-acres around Matilda Township, also in Upper Canada. He was married three times: (1) Mary McBean, niece of Capt. John McBean (2) Mary, daughter of John MacDonell of Leek (3) Cornelia, daughter of Captain The Hon. John Munro, of "Fowlis" Albany, New York.
