Somerset Struben de Chair (1911-1995)

M.P., Author & Historian, of St Osyth's Priory, Essex & Bourne Park, Kent

The de Chair family were French Huguenots (Protestants) who were ennobled in 1600 before coming to England where they where clergymen in the Church of England for several generations. In addition to history books, de Chair wrote his autobiography and edited several volumes of the memoirs of Napoleon in English.
