Sir James Campbell (1737-1805)

Kt., M.P., of Killean, Hereditary Usher of the White Rod for Scotland

He was recognized as the 9th Chief of Clan Tearlach, a branch of the Campbells of Craignish, by the Lord Lyon King of Arms in 1791. He was heir to his brother, General Sir Archibald Campbell, Governor of Madras etc., and 1st of Inverneill.
