Sarah (Burwell) Nelson (1769-1856)
Mrs Sarah Nelson (Burwell) Nelson
She was a niece of the first wife of Governor John Page and was described as, "a remarkably intelligent and well-educated woman." Her husband inherited "Long Branch" from his first cousin, Robert Carter Burwell, who grew up in their household and is often mistakenly referred to as her brother. They lived there until 1842 when they sold to her husband's nephew, Hugh Mortimer Nelson. She died at "Rosney".
