Samuel Holt (1758-1848)
of Coolavacoose, near Carbury, Co. Kildare
He was the son of John Holt (1720-1804) of Coolavacoose who was likely to have been - although a clear line has yet to be drawn between them - a grandson of the Rev. Samuel Holt (1677-1763), son of another Samuel Holt of Dublin and son-in-law of Isaac Manley, M.P. Rev. Holt was Rector of Slane and Ballymagarvey in Co. Meath, and Prebendary of Maynooth in Co. Kildare and St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin.
