Mrs Rosalie DeWolf (Anthony) Post
She was named for her assumed relation, Mrs Rosalie (DeWolf) Hopper (b.1826) who was a daughter of "Commodore" William Henry DeWolf of Linden Place, Bristol, Rhode Island. Her sister, Mrs Louise (Anthony) Vanderbilt lived between the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park and Rough Point, Newport. Her younger daughter, "Daisy" Post inherited the Vanderilt Mansion and Wakehurst at Newport. For many years she lived at 14 East 67th Street, "the scene of many brilliant social gatherings" before she retired to 777 Madison Avenue, New York. In 1912, she converted to Catholicism.
