Richard Floyd (1731-1791)

of Mastic, Suffolk County, New York

He was a first cousin of William Floyd who signed the Declaration of Independence. He was well-known for his generosity and was said to have kept one of the most plentiful tables on Long Island. He was a Loyalist, and like his brother-in-law had his property confiscated and was expelled from America.
