Percy Parsons Cowans (1878-1954)

Percy P. Cowans, Stockbroker, of McDougall & Cowans, Montreal

He had been one of Montreal's wealthiest and best-known stockbrokers and lived accordingly at 28 Ontario Avenue (see images). But, two years after the Wall Street Crash (1929) the firm of McDougall & Cowans was declared bankrupt, owing more than $14-million to their clients which they were unable to honor. He lost not only all his money, but his respect, and with that many friendships. He had three children.
