Patrick Grant (1809-1895)
Merchant, of William B. Reynolds & Co., Boston
He was born at Boston and after graduating from Harvard spent two and a half years in Italy and then lived in New York for another two years. Returning to Boston in 1837, he became a merchant with William B. Reynolds & Co. He was married twice. In 1840, he married Sarah, daughter of John Bryant, and had one daughter, Mrs Lyman. He married his second wife in Boston in 1850. She was Charlotte Boardman Rice, the eldest daughter of Henry G. Rice, of Brookfield, H.U., and by her he had a further four children: Robert, Henry Rice, Patrick, and Flora.
