Ogden Matthias Edwards (1843-1920)
Ogden M. Edwards, Sr., of Pittsburgh; Founder of Edwards & Kenny Insurance
He was born and educated in Pittsburgh. He co-founded the insurance firm Edwards & Kenney, "for sometime one of the leading insurance houses of the city" and he later formed a partnership with W.G. George and F.S. Guthrie. He was a director of the Commonwealth Trust Company of Pittsburgh and held several civic and charitable positions as a Director of the Western Pennsylvania Hospital; the Dixmount Hospital for the Insane; the Western Pennsylvania Institution for the Blind. He was a manager of the Kingsley Association and on the board of trustees of the Shadyside Presbyterian Church. He lived with his family at 826 Devonshire Street, Pittsburgh. He was survived by his wife, Sarah Herron, two sons and a daughter, Mrs Albert G. Wells.
